1 3 Vale of Atholl Pipe Band

The original

Vale of Atholl Pipe Band

dating back to around 1906

Previous Pipe Major Andrew Renwick

Was been in charge of the band from 2001

when he took over from Pipe Major Ian Duncan

For a number of years, “The Vale” have spent long hours in tuition with children from around Tayside. Here we have one of their regular Piping Camps held at Rowardennan.

Has signalled the start of another season for

Robert Wiseman Vale of Atholl

Pipe Major Andrew Rennick marches the band from the field

at Dunbar and signals the start of a successful year perhaps.

Leading Drummer Paul Turner laughs off some of the rough edges

At the end of season 2018, the band suffered a double blow that would have floored most bands.

The entire drum corps left enbloc to try pastures new and this was quickly followed by the resignation of the Grade One Pipe Major.

Just as “The Vale” performances were reaching some new heights, after a lean spell, this signalled their temporary withdrawal from all Grade One competition.

Their main target is recruiting a new drum corp., So if you fancy your chances, now is the time to contact Gillie MBE or some of her helpers.
